The Challenge

Our client understood the power of meritocracy, and how it could drive significant change in the organization. The had a robust PMO system in place for capturing employee feedback, but lacked a systematic workflow for evaluating, approving and prioritizing new ideas.

Pain Points

A lack of clarity on the feedback process led to problems in transparency following the initial PMO roll-out. Instead of feeling heard and understood, leaders felt an even greater disconnect with corporate IT initiatives.

Many organizations will say “our employees are our biggest asset” but few are successful at realizing the fullest potential of a workforce. One area often overlooked is failing to mine the collective wisdom for improvement opportunities both in the company’s operations, and in the wider marketplace.

Our Solution

The Bright Ideas Workflow provided an enterprise- wide system for capturing, evaluating, prioritizing and tracking progress of employee-sponsored initiatives. The “Idea Queue” was fed from multiple department-level SharePoint pages and provided a level of transparency that eliminated much of the culture-killing friction between operational areas requesting new functionality, and the leadership team setting the priorities.

Timeline

2 months for initial workflow. Subsequent implementations are 30 days or less depending on client availability.
